Springdale Cemetery hosted a special 150th Memorial Day anniversary Sunday on Soldier’s Hill.

Since this is the 150th anniversary at Springdale, the program will re-enact, near exactly, events at Springdale that occurred 150 years ago.

Organizers of the event say celebrating on Sunday, rather than Monday, gives people a chance to remember those who fought for our country while still being able to enjoy memorial day activities Monday..

“We’ve got fans set up, everything’s cool, we’ve got a couple of color guards,” says Bruce Brown, Springdale Cemetery Volunteer. “We’re gonna hav a celebration. We’re gonna have a remembrance and we’re gonna have a dedication and this is what today is about.”

The historic cemetery is home to Soldier’s Hill where hundreds of soldiers from every American war are buried.
