WYOMING, Ill. — Two employees within the Stark County School District are out of a job as of Monday evening.
The bus aide and bus driver were suspended in May after a complaint was filed.
The mother of a 7-year-old boy says the aide would put a 5-gallon bucket on her son’s head.
He has autism and would have outbursts. A Stark County schools administrator was told this was an attempt to address a behavior concern.
The school district released a statement to us saying while the boy wasn’t seriously injured, the actions of the employees go against district policies and standards.
The two employees, Al Curry and Cathy Webster, remained suspended until Monday when the school board moved to fire them at a board of education meeting.
The 7-year-old child’s mother was in attendance at the meeting and says she has been waiting weeks for the board to take action.
