PEORIA, Ill. — “For our family, Father’s Day is really a special event where we are all here taking part in it and celebrating with Peoria,” said Emily Cotton, Owner of Cyds in the Park.
You might know the annual day for dads best for the golf, beer, and barbecue- and everybody knows the quickest way to a dad’s heart is through his stomach. So, if you’re looking for a great place to chow down, head to Cyds in the Park.
“This year for Father’s Day we have a completely custom dad brunch and it looks like the weather is going to be perfect, so we’ll have outside patio games along with spectacular food that’s totally guy- driven,” said Cotton.
But if your dad, husband, or grandpa is more of the creative type… you can head to Mackinaw Winery. The staff is partnering with Art at the Bodega in Washington for a day full of wine and beer steins.
“The mom can come out and have some wine, the kids can be fishing, and dad can make a stein so it s gonna be a fun event,” said Tricia Yocum, owner of Art at the Bodega.
But some well-deserved family time and reeling in a few fish won’t be the only great catch this weekend. Dozer Park has a full weekend of home games.
“Any father and son really love to come and see a baseball game more than anything else and adding in everything else that we have- the family atmosphere I think it’s a no brainer,” said Stephen Brown, Marketing and Game Presentation Manager for the Peoria Chiefs.
So if you’re still struggling, just look for a place that has good food, great drinks and games.
