Local News

PEORIA, Ill. — Strong to severe storms rolling through Central Illinois Tuesday night caused some damage around the area.

Hail and strong winds packed a punch. One wind gust reported at the Peoria International Airport at 9:30 p.m was clocked at 56 miles per hour. Two trees were reported down in Bellevue due to a wind gust over 60 miles per hour.

The power is also out in that area between Bellevue and Hanna City. The Ameren Outage map shows over 650 customers in the dark after the storms blew through. There are 839 customers total in Peoria County without power due to the storms.

Power lines are also reported down in Woodford County. A viewer called in to say trees are down along Route 29 between Peoria and Chillicothe.
