An overnight double fatal shooting close to Bradley University kept officers busy into the early morning hours.

This double homicide marks the 6th one for this year with half of them happening within the last 24-hours.

Gun violence striking again in Peoria early Sunday morning.

18-year-old Nasjay Murry- a Bradley student from Chicago studying biomedical science And 22-year-old Anthony Polnitz of Peoria both killed during a shooting at a Peoria house early Sunday morning.

Reports say nearly one hundred people attended a party at the house when shots rang out.

Everyone scattered, including the shooter.

“We don’t have any suspect information at this time,” says Amy Dotson with Peoria Police.

Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood tells WMBD, both were pronounced dead at the scene.

“They were in the same room quite a distance a part from each other in the room, whether they knew each other or not I do not know,” says Harwood.

Bradley has released this statement in response to the shooting saying counseling services will have extended hours for students, but whats even frightening for many is if this double homicide might be the start of a deadly summer for Peoria.

“Last year we had 13 homicides,” says Harwood. “We’re halfway there and its only in April. Its scares me to be honest.”

This is a developing story and will be updated as information becomes available.
