MORTON, Ill. — The weekend heat didn’t stop people from enjoying weekend family events in Morton.
Families and kids dressed up as their favorite heroes for superhero day on Saturday.
Local restaurants and shops in town opened their doors for the community to explore.
The fire department also participated, showing kids around the trucks. Some kids even got to sit in the driver’s seat.
Superhero day gives people a chance to experience the area and try new places.
“It’s about getting families out and about, enjoying the town, and getting to some of the places that maybe they haven’t been before,” said Carol Davis, the owner of Lulu’s on Main.
Many shops had activities and goodies to hand out inside, with cool AC.
