Police have identified a suspect in the stabbing death of Charee Alexander.

Officers say they’re looking for 29-year-old Jatara Johnson.

Police officers say Johnson is considered armed and dangerous so do not approach her.

If you know where she is please call the police department at (309) 673-4521 or Crime Stoppers at (309) 673-9000.

The woman killed near a Peoria park was not one of the two women who started a fight at Schmoeger Park in Peoria

t was Charee Alexander’s sister who she was defending that day. Peoria Police confirm the fight started because two women were fighting over a man.

19-year-old Alexander was in a car pulled over by police just after the fight Thursday afternoon. She was taken to the hospital where she died the next day.

Police say the two women involved had been in altercations online, through text and in person. However, on Thursday the women met at the park, bringing along many others to defend them. At least one of those, police say, had a knife and as a result Alexander was stabbed.
