PEORIA, Ill., — Monday, the Peoria Housing Authority discussed the future of Taft Homes.
PHA CEO Jackie Newman said plans to renovate the restoration of Taft homes have been up in the air for 10 years, but says this time around this project will make it to the finish line.
Some residents said they believe the complex is long overdue for improvements.
Newman’s goal is to move families forward and said PHA plans to share more information with the public concerning the project soon.
“We’re working on getting a timeline established so once we have that timeline established we’ll be broadly sharing it with our families and our stakeholders in the community so that we can begin getting input as far as what the community would like to see in redevelopment,” Newman.
She emphasized that neighbor’s feedback is encouraged mentioning that your ideas can help them build better housing for the community.
