PEORIA, Ill. — Tanners Orchard is gearing up for its 72nd season, opening its doors Monday.
The Apple Bin Bakery and dining area have been expanded this year. During the off-season, Tanners moved and expanded the bakery and added more seating options.
Tanners Orchard will also sell a new Tanners Cookbook. The cookbook features old and new Tanner family recipes, compiled by Jill Tanner, event coordinator. Visitors will be able to purchase the new cookbook at Tanners Orchard’s Farm Market.
“Opening day is almost here, and we couldn’t be more excited!” Jennifer Beaver, 3rd generation co-owner of Tanners Orchard had to say about the upcoming opening. “We’re bringing back the same traditions you’ve come to expect but have some exciting new additions we think you’ll love.”
The orchard was founded in 1947, on a 20-acre farm outside Speer, Illinois. Ever since, community members have enjoyed enjoyed apple picking and other activities.
