PEORIA, Ill. — The president of the Taxpayers United of America came to Peoria ahead of the vote today.

He says he’s against the proposed call center and says it would negatively impact pension fees.

“It’s ridiculous, they are gonna spend ninety-thousand dollars to build a structure then hire people to fill it, in order to help collect the taxes and help steal money from the taxpayers, which will result in more property tax increase, resulting in more new hires going into a pension system that we cannot afford to pay anymore,” said Jim Tobin, president of Taxpayers United of America.
