Teen named in Bradley Ave homicide, $1 million bond

Local News

The teenager charged with the death of Anthony Polnitz (22) has been confirmed by Peoria Circuit Court documents as 16-year-old Jermontay Brock.

Peoria County court records show that Brock (born 10/18/2001) has been in the court system beginning at age 13 (08/01/2014) for a curfew violation.

We have confirmed a hand gun has been identified as the murder weapon.

Brock is being charged with first degree murder and is expected to be in court Friday.

Peoria Police Department held a press conference Thursday, releasing limited information because of his age and to not interfere with the progress of the investigation.

“The teamwork and the hard work, long hours that they put on this case and on that arrest is why we have a successful conclusion and an arrest made for this incident, says Interim Chief Loren Marion.

Brock is held on a $1 million dollar bond.

Currently, Brock is only being charged with the death of Polntiz but not for the death of 18-year-old Bradley University pre-med student, Nasjay Murry.

This story will be updated as soon as more information is released.
