The Hangar Too has undergone a name change, and soon it will get a complete makeover as well.
The Peoria International Airport restaurant can now be known as The Junction.
Architects began scoping out the restaurant this week to see what changes they’d like to make. The restaurant has proposed an updated menu that will bring new and fresh menu items for travelers to enjoy.
“One of the first things that people will notice will be on the air side. They’re bringing in a self-contained ventless grill. So they’re gonna be cooking a lot more items on the air side than they used to be,” said PIA’s Director of Airports Gene Olson.
“An airport really is a junction, because it’s a place where you show up in a car and you get out of the car and transition to the airplane so it’s kind of an appropriate name,” said Olson.
Olson believes that the ownership’s business plan is a wise financial decision that will bring more money to the airport.
