The Bloomington Police Department is proud to introduce their newest K-9, Ryker.

After 11 weeks of basic training with his experienced K-9 handler, Officer Justin Shively, the 2-year-old Belgian Malinois is ready to serve the public.

Ryker‚Äôs specialty is the ability to sniff out narcotics, tracking, building searches, article searches, and apprehensions.

Ryker can even assist in finding humans that may be trapped, hiding or lost.

“Anytime you have a new officer, or a new k-9, they are chomping at the bit they are ready to hit the streets and serve the public, said Elias Mendiola, Bloomington Police Department.
