NORMAL, Ill. — The oldest collegiate circus in the nation, The Gamma Phi Circus, is celebrating its 90th year, and the circus got one heck of a birthday present.
Members have been asked to be part of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
This is the first time in the circus’ history they’ve been asked to participate in the parade.
With Illinois State University being on of just two colleges in the nation with a circus, students say they can’t wait to show the world what Central Illinois has to offer.
“Being able to get our name out there while having more people understand what our organization is, is what we are looking forward,” said Gamma Phi Circus President Sophie Remmert. “Giving them the chance to see what we are capable of doing, on top of us being students.”
The Circus needs your help getting to New York.
While this trip will be one for the memories, it won’t be possible without any donations from the community.
If you’re looking to help make their dream come true visit Gamma Phi Circus.
