Ever since Los Cabos Cantina & Grill opened its doors in April 2014, the staff has done its best to become part of the community. Now after a second break in to their storage shed, owners say they’re not the only ones hurt.
“I don’t think we have problems with nobody but this makes you think about it,” Co-Owner Jose Vasquez said of the robbery.
Earlier this month, Co-Owner, Geraldo Tafoya said he an unexpected discovery at their North Point storage unit, “I found out there was no lock on my storage and when i opened it, I didn’t even recognize it.” They found more than $5000 worth of catering equipment had been stolen.
With summer in sight, owners were hoping to make a profit by catering weddings and gradation parties.
They say they’re not the only ones suffering from the loss.
“We try to help out our community, schools, and donations,” Tafoya added. He stated, “They’re not just stealing from us, they stole from a lot of people here.”
Vasquez says the staff has continued to stay positive through tough times, and is taking steps to ensure safety.
“My brothers are in the back watching our back, and we just watch each other.” He added, “At night if we have to stay longer to close the business we always make sure there’s always more than just one person leaving.”
Vasquez and the rest of his staff say they won’t let this keep them down, “we’re just going to keep going, and try harder this is not going to stop us from doing what we like to do, this is our life.”
The owners of Los Cabos Cantina are asking for your help.
They ask that you be aware and report anyone you see selling buffet serving equipment online or in the community.
