With students set to begin classes in a few weeks Peoria Public Schools are inviting families out to a town hall meeting on school and community safety.
Taking place Thursday night at the Southside mission, the panel discussion will feature speakers from local law enforcement the school board and community members. The goal of the event is to provide families with opportunities to help their children succeed both and in and out of the classroom.
“We want people to become stake holders in their kids life,” said Martha Ross, PPS board member. She adds, “ Parents play a huge role in their kids education, they can do like help out on the playground or in the lunchroom and halls.”
The event is for parents of all ages. It begins at 6 pm.
