Twin Cities family taking a trip to the border to help refugee families

The Tepen family of Bloomington is heading to the southern border Thursday morning to help refugee families. They will be in McAllen volunteering with the Humanitarian Respite Center.

The Humanitarian Respite Center is an organization that helps families who have been released from ICE detention. The family spent Wednesday morning collecting food and clothing items to take with them.

“My belief is that people are people and everyone deserves a warm meal and a change of clothes and a place to sleep. so even regardless of your political views about this people in need deserve to be served,” said Laura Tepen.
