Twin Cities man raising money for soldiers and veterans

NORMAL, Ill. - A Twin Cities radio host is raising money for our U.S. soldiers.

The event started 2 years ago in Peoria where they sit outside fo 36 hours straight, collecting donations for soldiers and veterans. All the donations go to "Hope for the Warriors." A donation of $5 puts a flag on a chair at the Corn Crib Stadium this year. Friday morning they had 851 flags placed.

"No one should serve overseas and then come back to a bad situation," said Joe Greenwood, Co-Founder of Seats for Soldiers. "I mean we've got homeless veterans. We've got veterans that are committing suicide. And that's just, its awful."

The event went from Tursaday at 6a.m. until Friday at 6p.m. You can still donate by texting "SEATS 5" TO 20222.
