The McLean County Chamber of Commerce unveiled its newest project today. BN Share Space, located just off Empire in Bloomington, is a fully modular co-working space designed to bring telecommuters, entrepreneurs, students, mobile employees, and others together into a collaborative and more effective creative space.
“You see a lot of people working in coffee shops, hotel lobby’s, libraries and book stores” said Scott Heape, McLean County Chamber of Commerce Operations Manager. “So what we are trying to do is get those people out of those shells and bring them together. I think we have a very strong entrepreneurial community here in Bloomington-Normal and we are going to be able to bring those people here.”
Nothing but smiles were on the faces of the people who put on the event today. They were most excited about being able to bring the community together to help its economy. Heape said that it is a starter project but he believes in time steam will pick up and they will start to see a huge showing at the facility.
“I hope to build a big community” Heape said. “That’s a big part of it, having a community of those people that use the shared space, so they’re all good friends and they know each other.”
The first two weeks of entry will be free and open to anyone. After that you will need to purchase a membership to continue attending. To find out how to become a member visit http://www.bnshare.space/.
