Two Champaign men arrested on drug charges

On Thursday, February 15, the BPD’s Vice Unit, Street Crimes Unit, and a BPD Detective assigned to the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Task Force concluded a drug investigation into the sale of illegal narcotics.

As a result of the investigation, Benjamin Sayles, age 26, of Champaign, has been arrested for multiple counts of Manufacture/Delivery of other amount of Narcotic Schedule III Drugs. Lawrence P. Lewis, age 25, of Champaign, was also arrested for multiple counts of Manufacture/Delivery of other amount of Narcotic Schedule III Drugs.

Sayles and Lewis were arrested after a traffic stop near the area of Tracy Drive and Oak Creek Plaza. Currency and evidence of drug distribution were seized as evidence. Sayles and Lewis were transported to the McLean County Jail.
