A pair of adults have been hospitalized following a shooting in Peoria Wednesday evening.
Authorities responded to a Shotspotter alert of multiple rounds fired near the intersection of E. Republic St. and N. Central Ave. around 6:15 p.m, according to a Peoria Police spokesperson.
Upon arrival, police found two adult victims with gunshot wounds. Officers also collected evidence along the 1100 block of E. Frye, which is nearby. Bullets also struck two vehicles.
Both of the victims were transported to local hospitals, and their injuries are not expected to be life-threatening, according to police.
Multiple people living in the area say it’s common for people, including children, to be outside during the day in this area.
Police have not identified any suspects.
