The Illinois Department of Transportation announces that daily lane closures began June 26 on the eastbound McClugage Bridge.
The closures are necessary for crews to wash the span that carries U.S. 150 over the Illinois River. The closures are between 6 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. To avoid the work area, when feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered.
The closures are expected to last about two weeks.
IDOT would like to remind drivers to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
