EAST PEORIA, Ill. — Organizers hosted the second annual fish fry at Meadows Ave Tap on Sunday.

The event raises money for Jake Marks’ telethon fund for St. Jude Children’s Research hospital.

People entered into raffles to win prizes, dunked workers in a dunk tank, and enjoyed food and drink.

Organizers say last year’s fish fry raised $2,500.

This year, they hope to raise $5,000 for the cause.

“We all just became very passionate about St. Jude and wanting to raise the money to help the kids and, you know, they’re unfortunate enough to fight the fight of cancer everyday and we’re looking to help them,” said Mckenna Krevs.

The St. Jude Mephis to Peoria run begins on Tuesday in Tennessee. Runners will arrive in Peoria on Saturday, August 3.
