PEKIN, Ill. — Changes are coming to UnityPoint Health – Pekin.

The hospital announced Tuesday that all labor and delivery services are being shifted to the Peoria campus, enhancing adult specialty services in Pekin. Officials said the changes are to better meet the needs of the community.

The combination of labor and delivery programs at UnityPoint Health – Methodist is effective Sept. 17.

New specialty physicians are in place or are coming to Pekin, including Gastroenterology, Infectious Disease, Neurology, Palliative Care and Urology.

We are introducing new services and welcoming specialty physicians and providers to Pekin,” said Dr. Keith Knepp, President & CEO, UnityPoint Health – Central Illinois. “We must provide quality care that is sustainable, and we believe we are making the best decisions possible to be able to provide outstanding care in Pekin for many years to come.”
