UnityPoint Health Pekin celebrates $8 million renovations

PEKIN, Ill.–UnityPoint Health celebrated its ribbon-cutting of an $8 million renovation Friday at its Pekin facility.

The healthcare facility is celebrating a new lobby, gift shop, and labs among other things.

The renovated lobby will offer quick access to registration and lab services.

On Friday, community members were able to come out to the Pekin facility and take a tour of the building.

“What’s less visible are some of the radiology investments we’ve made. We’ve purchased a brand-new, state of the art, CT scanner that’s installed now. This does faster CT scans, and also, newer CT scanners do the imaging with less radiation, so it’s safer for patients,” said UnityPoint Health Regional CEO Dr. Keith Knepp.

“All of this is about our committment to quality and access of healthcare services. It’s our goal to make healthcare services easier and more personal for the Pekin community,” Dr. Knepp said.

Dr. Knepp said the entire urgent care space at UnityPoint Pekin has been renovated as well.
