UPDATE: Body Found After Van Fire, Coroner Releases New Details

UPDATE: WMBD News has learned the identity of the person found dead in a burning van. The coroner told us the victim was alive when the fire started.

The body Elise B. Rogers, 57, of Peoria was pronounced dead just after midnight on Tuesday. Peoria firefighters and police officers responded to a car on fire in the 500 block of Northeast Adams near Bryan Street on Monday just before midnight.

After the flames were out, Rogers was found dead inside. Johnna Ingersoll said that they identified her through fingerprints. She suffered extensive burning.

Ingersoll doesn’t believe this was a suicide.
