The boil order for residents in Washington Estates has been lifted.

June 7, 10:28 a.m.

A boil order is being issued to all Illinois American Water customers living in Washington Estates.

It’s being issued due to a loss in water pressure within the Washington Estates water system.

If you’re in the affected area you should bring your water to a rolling boil for 5 minutes before using water for drinking or cooking. The water is OK for bathing, washing and other common uses.

Any time water pressure drops below 20 pounds per square inch, in any part of a community’s distribution system, a boil order must be issued.
