A bus crash in Bloomington sends a few students to the hospital.

46 students were on board when the Unit 5 bus crashed off Route 150, at the corner of Abraham. 3 students and the bus driver  were sent to the hospital with minor injuries.

“For the bus sliding off into, and turning on its side, we could have had many more injuries, and perhaps even a level of severe injuries,” said Dr. Mark Daniel, Unit 5 Superintendent.

Police are trying to figure out what caused the 2 vehicle crash, that resulted in the bus tipped over in the ditch.

“I’m very thankful for our administrators that were on the scene,” said Dr. Daniel.

All but the 3 injured students were brought back to Evans Junior High, where their parents picked them up.

Dr. Daniel said, “We’re very fortunate. We do not believe it was the fault of the bus driver.”
