UPDATE: Male victim of early morning Peoria shooting identified

UPDATE 5:52 p.m. — Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood has identified the male victim as 43-year-old Jerrimic Booker. 

Harwood said Booker was pronounced deceased at 3:11 a.m. in the Emergency Department at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center. 

Autopsy findings revealed Booker, of West Ann St., suffered multiple gunshot wounds throughout his body. The caliber of the weapon is not being released. 

The case remains under investigation by the Peoria Police Department and the Peoria County Coroner’s Office.

UPDATE 5:15 a.m. — Police now confirm that a man, not woman as previously reported, has died after an early morning shooting.

He was taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries and later died.

There is no suspect information and police are still investigating.

Peoria Police are investigating an early morning shooting.

They received a report about a woman who was shot in the 500 block of Spring St. around 2:20 a.m. Wednesday morning.

She was taken to the hospital and her condition is not known.

Police have not yet shared any more details.
