PEORIA, Ill. - The victim in an early morning Sunday shooting died of his injuries Wednesday.
Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood tells WMBD at on June 3rd 2:24 a.m. crews were called to 245 Green Street on reports of shots heard in the area.
When they arrived, the searched the scene and found 22-year-old Malik Everett with a gunshot wound half a block away, on Northeast Washington St.
Everett was rushed to the surgical ICU at OSF St. Francis Medical Center.
He died from his injuries Wednesday.
Harwood says Everett was shot in his velvis which holds several large blood vessels.
Police tell WMBD they are still searching for suspects in the case.
