PEORIA - A local farm is working to give back this weekend. Weaver Angus Farm hosted a Polo game Saturday, like it does every year, but this time they decided to turn it into a tailgate event to help raise money for CASA.
CASA is local non-profit that helps abused and neglected children get through the court system faster and into good homes.
Travis Weaver is a CASA board member. He says the low cost to host a tailgate, helps raise even more money.
He says, "for this event today, 98% of the money we are bringing in is going directly into the organization, so we had to get a dumpster, we had to get some porta potty, some little things, but for the most part all of the money that we are raising today is going to go directly into CASA."
The Weaver family is hoping to raise $15,000 after Saturday's event. You can donate to CASA here.
