The Peoria Marathon is turning into a weekend long festival, going now by the name of Whiskeydaddle.
Shazam Racing and Running Central are paying tribute to the 80 plus years Peoria was known as the “Whiskey Capital of the World”.
The event will be two days of family fun, the 5-K Race and Kids Run will now be on Saturday along with live entertainment, food and games for both adults and children.
Marathon and Half Marathon runners will hit the road on Sunday.
Even if you’re not a runner, organizers say there will be something for everyone to enjoy.
“We’re going to have so much fun things, that draw people into downtown into greater Peoria for that weekend,” Adam White Co-Owner of Running Central added, “Even if people are not interested in doing on of the races, we want create activity”.
