BLOOMINGTON, Ill. — Senior White House Official Anne Hazlett weighed in on the discussion of de-criminalizing marijuana at the federal level.

Hazlett serves on the White House’s Office of National Drug Control.

She says before this discussion reaches the federal level she would like to see policy-makers do more research on marijuana effects.

“Marijuana is an ongoing challenge that is being addressed in many of our states,” said Hazlett. “This is a state decision, and we would like to see additional research done so that these decisions being made at a state level are being made in a manor that is fully informed.”

Many of you are also weighing in on recreational marijuana legalization. If you want to join the discussion head to our Facebook page WMBD News.
