Winter weather invades spring in Central Illinois

PEORIA, Ill. -- (WMBD) Winter Storm Warnings have been expanded to now include Knox, Peoria, Tazewell and McLean Counties through 10 pm Saturday.

A sharp cutoff in snow accumulations is expected along I-74 where locations along and immediately north of I-74 will receive 5-8 inches of snow while locations south of I-74 may struggle to see 2 inches of snow.

Further north across Henry, Stark, Marshall and Woodford counties 6-10 inches of snow is expected.

The Illinois Department of Transportation road conditions map shows all Interstates in Central Illinois being completely snow covered. Traffic Collision Alerts and parking bans are being issued in several locations across the viewing area due to the storm.
