The season of giving is finally here, and McLean County received a couple inches of snow early this morning.
The initial drops began after 1 a.m. Thursday morning and Bloomington crews were already in place. Director of public works, Jim Karch, says the amount of snow was expected and handled efficiently.
He says he’s looking forward to the weather warming up as we head into the weekend and he has a tip for residents.
“Hopefully people aren’t putting their leaves on the street,” said Karch. “Because when that happens you actually get a lot of flooding. Whenever rain comes, it actually washes those leaves down to the nearest inlet, plugging that inlet and causing a lot of drain problems.”
Things to remember when driving in the snow, always take a little extra time to and from your destination, do not get too close behind the snow plow trucks and always pay attention.
