BLOOMINGTON, Ill - Bloomington Police are conducting an investigation after a woman was hit by a car early Friday morning in the 1700 Block of West Market Street.
Officers arrived on the scene to find an unconscious, but breathing, 63-year-old woman, from Chicago, in the intersection of Market and Caroline. Bloomington Fire Rescue arrived and transported her to Advocate BroMenn Medical Center in Normal.
The driver, and witnesses who saw what happened, were interviewed by the police.
The driver refused medical treatment and was released on the scene.
A witness stated she was seen crossing the street, against the traffic control light, when she was struck by the car.
The case is still under investigation.
