PEORIA, Ill. - One Peoria area organization is doing everything they can to make sure that animals can find good homes. Sunday, the Stray Animal Midway Shelter held its fourth annual Woofstock.
SAMS is an adoption agency dedicated to ending euthanasia. Since 2008, Connie Davis has dedicated her life to rescuing animals and finding them a home.
Woofstock uses activities, games and a sixties fun themes to help raise money for the organization.
"It's about peace, love and dogs. This is our fourth year and its our biggest fundraiser. We wanted to do an outdoor fundraiser with dogs. A lot of groups do that, but we thought we can make it different with the sixties theme and live music," Davis explained.
All of the money raised goes toward SAMS mission.
And a special WMBD guest was in this year's dunk tank to help raise money. Meteorologist Lauren Rainson took an ice cold dip for a good cause.
