Fifth graders from the river city got the chance to show off their cooking skills today.
Student from District 150 whipped up their best healthy comfort food recipes for this years Future Chef’s Challenge.
256 school districts across the country participate in the event.
Judges believe that the culinary profession has become more popular from its presentation on television shows
“as those different channels have educated people, even these young kids, they know now what’s good for their bodies and what’s not good for their bodies. It’s very encouraging to see them a young age really taking off with this and making a change in their own lives,” said Chef Mark Shoopman.
The top three students in the competition will get the chance to cook alongside Chef Mark on WMBD’s Living Well next Friday.
