Man turns himself in after allegedly shooting, killing 42-year-old Eddie Wren

PEORIA, Ill.– On Saturday Sept. 14 around noon, 34-year-old Xavier Blake came into the Peoria Police Department and turned himself in for the shooting death of Eddie Wren.

Blake was arrested for first degree murder and booked at the Peoria County Jail.

On Thursday around 6:45 p.m., Peoria Police responded to the area of Wisconsin and Nebraska regarding a male victim of a shooting.

Eddie Wren, age 42, was discovered with a life-threatening gunshot wound to the neck. Wren was transported to an area hospital but was pronounced dead at 7:15 pm.

Peoria Police PIO Amy Dotson said when officers arrived they say they found Wren, lying on the ground by a car, shot in the neck.

This incident is still under investigation.
