“Last night we were informed of the heartbreaking news that our friend and colleague, meteorologist Jessica Starr took her life. All of us here at Fox2 are in deep shock and cannot believe that such a wonderful, bright and intelligent individual will no longer be with us. Her family and friends will be in our thoughts and prayers in the coming days as we all deal with our grief.”

6 News anchor Lauren Thompson, who worked with Starr, remembered her friend.
“This morning I am stunned by the loss of a former 6 News colleague. I can not imagine the struggles one must face to feel that taking your own life is the only solution. Jessica Starr leaves behind a husband and two young children who will now grow up without their mom. My heart breaks for them and her entire family. Please pray for them all today.”
