An eyewitness, who did not want to be identified, tells WGN he heard about seven to eight gunshots. He says what followed was panic.
“I saw a gentleman or kid raise his right and I saw a black hand gun,” the man said.
The witness says he was inches away from the gunman.
“I tried not to hit people in the parking lot and I heard four five or six gunshots and I’m like ‘no, that can’t be,'” he said.
Nearby business owners tell WGN they were tipped off about the violence.
“I had people call me they’re like ‘we heard shots, everything OK by your shop?'” said Mahmoud Alsharbini of Naeman Hair Salon.
Thaer Othman of Tuff Puff Vape says the shooting brings unwanted fear to the community.
“It scares a lot of people,” Othman said. “It effects business. People scared to buy stuff . It’s hard to deal with it.”
