PEKIN, Il. – Pekin police officers have arrested the man they say is responsible for a stand off on Friday. Officers located 23-year-old Chase Bennett around 8 Saturday night.
Bennett was charged with aggravated domestic battery, criminal trespass to property and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police were called Friday to Half Vaped, located at 1020 Derby Street.
Police say Bennett was armed and barricaded himself inside. After approximately two hours, law enforcement determined that prior to the department arriving on scene, Bennett had fled. No one was injured during the incident. Bennett is being held at the Tazewell County Jail.
According to online court records, Bennett has prior criminal activity. He was charged with possession of meth in May.
