Police search for suspect in shooting that forced schools into lockdown


PEORIA, Ill. — The Peoria Police Department is searching for 26-year-old Jyair Williams.

PIO spokeswoman Amy Dotson on Friday said officials believe he was involved in the Thursday morning shooting that forced St. Philomena Catholic School and Thomas Jefferson Primary School into lockdown and left one male suffering from life-threatening injuries.

Williams is 6’2″ with brown eyes and black hair. If you see him, police ask you to call 911 and report the sighting immediately. They said Williams is considered armed and dangerous.
