PEORIA Ill. – Peoria City Council members Tuesday agreed to hold an event in which Ring Security cameras will be available to residents for a fraction of the price.
In July, council members approved a contract with Ring Security. It would make the security cameras available to neighbors at about half the price.
At the time Councilman Jim Montologo said he spoke with Ring Security and the cost of cameras range in price from $189 to $200. This contract allows the city to sell cameras to neighbors at a $100 discount.
The Ring Security cameras event will be held on November, 2 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Northwoods Mall.
The contract cost the city $50,000.
