St. Jude prepares for runners’ journey to Memphis

PEORIA, Ill. — The St. Jude Runners will begin their journey to Memphis, Tennessee on Tuesday.

The departure will begin with a procession at 7 a.m. from the St. Jude office at 4722 N. Sheridan and continue to Glen to Knoxville, to I-74 eastbound.

The following intersections will be impacted:

• Glen & Sheridan
• Glen & Knoxville
• Lake & Knoxville
• War Memorial & Knoxville
• Forrest Hill & Knoxville
• McClure & Knoxville
• Nebraska & Knoxville
• Pennsylvania & Knoxville

The City of Peoria is reminding motorists to plan extra time to reach their destinations if traveling in these areas.

The St. Jude Runs is an annual charity event benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The inspiration began in 1982, when Mike McCoy and Gene Pratt collaborated on a way to raise money for the hospital.

They have raised over $18 million since they started.
