PEORIA, Ill. — The 38th annual Taste of Peoria is set to start at 4 p.m. Aug. 14 at Northwoods Mall.
The event, by Peoria Area Community Events (PACE) and Sunbelt Rentals, has a $2 per person admission and will feature several vendors and music.
Thirty of the Peoria area local restaurants offer a taste of their specialty foods from all nationalities. Over 70 different food items will be available. The restaurants are judged by booth design, appetizers, casual entrees, entrees, desserts and beverage.
Due to the construction under the Murray Baker Bridge, the Taste of Peoria moved to the parking lot behind JCPenney.
New restaurants this year include Casa de Arte, Snowie Shaved Ice, Open Smoke, Nacho Mama’s Grilled Cheese, and more.
PACE is providing a free shuttle bus service which will circulate throughout the parking lot of Northwood’s Mall from 4-9 p.m.
All proceeds from the Taste of Peoria are used to repair and build new Santa Parade Floats and maintain the warehouses where PACE houses the floats and event equipment.
