Illinois Supreme Court taking applications for 10th Judicial Circuit after Hoos resigns for state’s attorney


On August 5, 2019, the Peoria County board appointed Jodi Hoos as the county’s state’s attorney.

PEORIA COUNTY– An application is in process to appoint a Resident Circuit Judge vacancy in Peoria County Tenth Judicial Circuit.

Illinois Supreme Court Justice Thomas L. Kilbride Tuesday announced Circuit Judge Jodi M. Hoose resigned, effective Sept. 1, 2019. The term of office will conclude the first Monday in December following the November 2020 general election.

The application form and instructions for the position is obtainable on the Illinois Supreme Court’s website. Applicants must be admitted to practice law in Illinois and be in good standing with the Attorney Registration and Disciplinary commission or any other disciplinary body.

To be considered, all documents must be receive in Justice Kilbride’s office no later than 11:30 a.m. on Sept. 6.

The Tenth Judicial Circuit includes Marshall, Peoria, Putnam, Stark and Tazewell Counties.
