UPDATE: Kewanee man dies in a car crash in Peoria County

PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) — (UPDATE – 7:00 p.m.) Illinois State Police said a 34-year-old Kewanee man died in a car crash Sunday afternoon, April 11 in Peoria County.

Police said a car was traveling south on Illinois Route 78 at White Road when the car veered into the left lane and hit a car that was traveling north. The southbound car rolled over onto its roof.

Police said the driver, David Karman, 34, was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger of the car, a Peoria woman, and the driver of the car heading north, an East Peoria man, were both brought to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash shut down Illinois 78 from Lorrence Road in Peoria County to Duncan Road in Stark County for six hours. The crash happened around 12:20 p.m.


IL Rd 78 at White RD is closed because of a rollover crash, according to the Peoria Emergency Communications Center.
