UPDATE: A man is in the hospital Sunday after crashing his motorcycle into a truck.
Police told us that the man was riding with a group of bikers down Grandview Drive around 2:00 in the afternoon.
That’s when the man hit the truck and was thrown from his bike.
Police say the man was not wearing a helmet.
He suffered head injuries and was taken to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, his condition is unknown right now.
Police say it’s a reminder of how dangerous a winding road like that can be.
“It’s a very tight curve, I can’t say there’s been a lot of accidents here, the speed limit is 25 I believe and it is, you have to use caution when you’re coming up and down these hills,” said Peoria Police Lt. Jared Ginglen.
Police say the driver of the truck did not appear to cross the center line.
Grandview Drive was re-opened after about an hour.
