Tazewell County Board Chairman David Zimmerman has announced his plan to seek re-election in 2020. Zimmerman was originally elected Chairman in November 2008 after serving twelve years as a board member.
Zimmerman credits the County’s many accomplishments to a “strong board that works hard to find solutions to our ongoing issues.” Our employees and countywide elected officials also work as a team for all the citizens of Tazewell County.
58-year-old Zimmerman lives in Morton with his wife Cindy. They have four children and recently became grandparents for the first time. A graduate of Illinois State University, Chairman Zimmerman has worked in the pharmaceutical industry for over 32 years.
“Serving the citizens of Tazewell County is a privilege I never want to take for granted,” stated Zimmerman. He also said that “I want to do everything with integrity, transparency and honesty.”
Petitions are now being circulated for the March 2020 primary.
